Canyon Recycles

Thanks to the loving efforts of our librarian, Barbara, inside the library there are boxes where you can recycle:

Eyeglasses & sunglasses (without cases) for ONE SIGHT. Visit www.onesight.org to learn more.

New or gently used children’s books to be distributed among inner city needy schools

Cell phones (on-going collection for our annual Electronics Drive)

Cans and bottles (Barbara uses the money to buy books for the library)

Used batteries (Barbara properly disposes them for the Canyon community)

Near the Library:

Each classroom has a recycle bin to collect paper.  The paper is disposed of in the blue trash cans which are then placed on the sidewalk by Doug Stoll’s 5th grade class for collection by the City of Los Angeles.

At STAR:

Lily Velado has approximately 80 reusable plastic plates, bowls, cups and sets of utensils to loan out for class parties/activities.
