Olympics Day (when Olympics is OVER)
Olympics Day is one of the most memorable events for the children of Canyon. It's the only event that the children run. Literally. Olympics Day is a chance for everyone - from the most athletic, to the most cerebral, from the very social to the very timid - to achieve great things together.
WHAT IS OLYMPICS DAY ALL ABOUT?
Olympics Day is a remarkable fundraiser where our kids work together in competitive and entertaining ways to raise money for their school.
During the fundraising period of 10 days, our children collect pledges via Sign-up Genius (preferred) OR paper pledges from friends, neighbors, relatives, coaches, babysitters...anyone! The ask is for sponsorship of each lap they can run around our grassy field in 10 minutes.
On race day, the total laps each child ran are tallied and notes are sent home with the dollar amount due. The children are encouraged and filled with the inspiration of the Olympic Spirit throughout the 10 day period by their teachers, Coach Joey, and the three exciting pledge collection contests which are held throughout the fundraising period. Everyone gets involved. Olympics Day is an exciting and memorable day for the Canyon community.
WHY DO WE HAVE OLYMPICS DAY?
1. For Fun.
2. For Fitness.
3. For Fundraising.
