A Reminder About Canyon's Birthday Policy

Birthdays are not celebrated in the classroom in any grade at Canyon. The policy does not permit food, treats or party invitations to be brought to campus at any time.

This policy was established by the Local School Leadership Council to be fair to all students and to limit distractions from instruction. Birthday celebrations tend to highlight differences between families, with some able to provide a large celebration and others not, and the classroom is not the right place for that difference to surface.

The policy is enforced throughout the school year, and we appreciate your cooperation in following it. It is worth passing along to grandparents, caregivers and anyone else who may be dropping something off at school on your behalf.
