Local School Leadership Council
The LSLC Committee meetings are held once a the month on a Thursdays. LSLC Committees are the place where teachers, parents, staff and administrators convene to discuss day-to-day concerns of the school and develop policy proposals to be considered by the LSLC as a whole. Committees are the place where you can have a real impact on matters that directly affect your child and the school as a whole. Committees effectively represent the interests of parents when parents attend the meetings. We urge you to join us.
About & Membership
Canyon School is administered by the Local School Leadership Council, the school's decision-making body, which is made up of teachers, parents and guardians, administrators, and other staff. The Council makes decisions on every new program or activity at the school.
LSLC meets once a month on Thursdays at 2:00pm (see the website calendar for exact dates) and all parents and guardians are welcome. Each meeting includes Principal Nicole Sheard's monthly report, reports from each of the Council Committees (which meet one week prior to the LSLC), and a brief forum for the introduction of new business.
The Local School Leadership Council encourages parents and guardians to participate and learn more about how Canyon works, and also to lend their voices to the decision-making process. All parents and guardians are eligible to run for an elected position on the Governing Council. Elections are held annually.
