Report an Absence

Please email the school office whenever your child is going to be out. One short message is all it takes, and it keeps your child’s attendance record accurate.

Each button opens a new message to the same address, with the details already laid out for you. Pick whichever email you use. If a button does nothing when you click it, your computer probably has no email program set up, so use the Gmail or Outlook button instead, or copy the address above into your own email.

What to include

• Your child’s full name
• Your child’s teacher and room number
• The date or dates your child will be out
• The reason, such as illness, a medical appointment or a family emergency
• Your name and your relationship to your child

If you can, send your note in the morning before the school day starts, so the office has it in hand when attendance is taken.

The Canyon school office is at 310-454-7510. Email is the office’s preferred way to hear about an absence, and a phone call works too if that’s easier for your family.
