Simone Spenner

I was born and raised in San Jose, CA before moving to Los Angeles to attend Loyola Marymount University. I received my bachelor’s degree in Accounting and after several years as a CPA, I realized I wanted to pursue my lifelong desire to become a teacher. Thanks to the unconditional love and encouragement of my elementary teachers, I have always loved school. It was fun for me, challenged me, provided a safe haven for me, and above all, gave me the tools to be a proponent for my future. I have always dreamed of providing the same for my students and returned to LMU to obtain my Master’s in Elementary Education and teaching credential. My vision for teaching is to cultivate a classroom where students desire to be, feel cared for, and are empowered to learn and grow—a  safe place that feels like home. I love that I get to do this alongside the wonderful staff, students, and families at Canyon. In my time away from teaching, I enjoy hiking, running, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
